Comparison regarding size and levels of absorbency for HyPs Original Reusable Menstrual Pads

Washing & Drying Instructions:

-Machine wash the pads in cold water using a reputable detergent—we recommend Tide Original.

-Start with a pre-wash in cold water using a small amount of detergent (about 1/4 of what's recommended for a full load).

-Follow with a heavy duty wash (longest cycle, up to 140°F / 60°C) using the full recommended amount of detergent. Add other laundry items as needed for bulk.

-Do not use bleach or fabric softeners

-Air dry whenever possible to help maintain the shape and quality of the pads.

-If using a dryer, set it to low heat to avoid shrinking or damaging the materials.

-Avoid over-drying, which can cause wear to the materials

I have a very light flow (because of my IUD) and I never used anything during my period and ruined a lot of panties because I didn't want to be uncomfortable wearing regular pads and pantiliners just wouldn't stay in place. Then I found hyps with wings by lil helper and I was so excited to finally have a comfortable pad to save my panties. I highly recommend for comfort that you switch to Hyps.

These are awesome. If you’re reading a review of a period product, you’re maybe wondering about coverage and absorbency. These pads are wonderful in both areas. I have older reusable pads from Thinx and those would never have held as much blood as these did last night. Normally I would’ve been woken in the night by dampness AND spillage with the Thinx pads, even with a period cup in place, due to heavy flow on the first night of menstruation. This pad, I slept through the whole night and only saw how much it was able to absorb & hold upon waking up in the morning. I did have a period cup in place, but still, these were able to absorb a ton, and did not feel wet to the touch in the morning. Wild stuff. Go ahead and get twelve of these pads. I’ll be doing the same.

I love these pads! They're better for the environment and so much more comfortable to wear!! No worries about uncomfortable sticky pads anymore; these just have a snap (that stays in place!) and the softest fabric.

Wonderful pads

100% worth having to wash these versus using traditional pads from the stores. So much more comfortable and hold way more. With disposable pads I always have to get up in the middle of the night and change them and I don’t with these.

Excellent product, excellent people

I started looking into cloth pads after developing a damaging allergy to the adhesive in disposable pads. I remembered seeing this company on TikTok and found them extremely considerate, inclusive, and empathetic, so I decided to try here first.
I purchased the HyPs Original Reusable Pad. No issues with shipping, included a tracking feature, and delivered on time (took about a week from ordering to opening them).
- Well made, soft and comfortable to wear. They don't feel bulky and the internal material doesn't bunch up like the disposable pads I've used. I prefer pads with wings, and the little plastic snaps keep it mostly in place. (I will probably switch to the Active pads for their non-slip beads when the regular size is available again.) I really like the fun patterns as well.
- Absorbent! When I went to rinse one out for the first time I kept waiting to feel water through the bottom of it, but it held so much more liquid than it looked like it would!
- Stays dry! After I had received and was enjoying my purchase I was watching Uncle Mo's TikTok videos and when he was describing the stay-dry side I noticed it didn't feel soggy or sticky at all and out loud I said "hey, it does! :D it does stay dry!" I noticed this more when not on my period, since I have like an unfortunate amount of normal discharge and as an autistic person it's such sensory discomfort and I had to change underwear a lot which was inconvenient. I tried to use disposable pads for this but it did not seem to absorb effectively. Since using these pads I notice that sensory discomfort a lot less and can change underwear at a more normal rate. Such a huge relief!
- Easy to clean and dries fast, have washed multiple times and no issues, feels like it was never used
- Great customer service: after I received my order I got a voicemail from a representative checking to make sure I didn't have any questions or concerns. I can't remember the last time a company took the time to do that, and with a real person to boot.
Overall, I am really satisfied with my purchase and I will be buying more pads and products from this company. Thank you very much to everyone here for your hard work and kind care.
