    For Heavy Messes

    Start with a short pre-wash in warm water (up to 140°F / 60°C) using the recommended amount of detergent; we suggest Tide Original to Line 1. Follow with a heavy-duty, longest-cycle wash in warm or cold water, using the full recommended detergent amount. Add other laundry items to create a full load for proper agitation.

    For Everyday or Light Use

    If the mat is lightly soiled or already pre-rinsed, a regular wash cycle in cold or warm water (up to 140°F / 60°C) with the normal amount of detergent is sufficient.

    Do not use bleach, fabric softeners, or natural detergents, as they can affect waterproofing and absorbency.

    Drying

    Hang to dry whenever possible. If needed, tumble dry on low heat.

    Before washing, remove any solids from your product. For heavily soiled items that may stain or develop odors, rinse under cold running water until clear before storing. For a deep clean, start with a pre-wash on a short warm cycle (up to 140°F / 60°C) using the recommended amount of detergent, then follow with a heavy-duty wash on the longest cycle in warm or cold water, adding other items to create a full load for proper agitation. For everyday or lightly soiled items, a regular cycle in cold or warm water with the usual amount of detergent is sufficient. Hang to dry whenever possible, or tumble dry on low if needed.
    Each Lifesaver Mat is made of 3 layers: waterproof PUL, absorbent microfibre, and a top layer of stay dry charcoal. Get all the details here.

    That’s a great question! Unfortunately it is a little tricky to answer. If you evenly and steadily distributed water across the entire mat, we could probably give you an amount, but that’s not really how most humans leak and therefore not how the mats get used. We do have this handy video to show you how our Lifesaver Mats absorb. This should give you an idea of how it works and if it will be a good fit for the mess you have in mind!

    So, I got this for my grandmother as she was suffering from Alzheimer’s and UTI’s, amount other things. Cute pattern as I love to grow plants / have a garden. It was wonderful to include her bed rotation and I couldn’t be happier.

    I ordered this on a hunch and it arrived JUST before my family member was to get their catheter removed. Stepping into a caretaking role is not a glamourous job by far but it's been such an easier time dealing with the incontinence problems than my previous experiences!

    The Best Investment

    I invested in one of these mats a few weeks ago and let me tell you, this has been the best purchase I have made in a LONG time. My partner and I are saving our washing machine and our sanity by not having to wash sheets multiple times a week. Instead it is a quick remove and we go to sleep so peacefully and do not have to maneuver around the wet spot.

    Cat pee? No problem!

    We bought these for our 2.5 year old to start potty training, and to be used for a diaper change pad with our 4 month old. I ended up using one on the baby mat, as my 4 month old pukes all day long. Well, my lovable cat occasionally likes to pee on things when she's in a mood. (We've been dealing with this for over 10 years, it's not medical at all and is purely temperament.) I had no idea she'd even peed on the mat until I picked it up while cleaning and smelled it. It was practically dry as a bone and had kept the play mat safe below it. I used urine cleaner in the washing machine and it came out perfectly! I'll be replacing my mattress protectors with Lil Helper in the future.
